JAY ELECTRIC COMPANY is an industrial service and manu-facturing business focused on quality on-time solutions in elec-tric motor management.
Each of our six plant facilities is a unique team of skilled electro-mechanical professionals dedicated to fast and accurate response through value and quality customer service. Jay Electric employees are drug free and they focus daily on plant safety, business ethics and continuous improvement of their product, their plant and their process. Our headquarters is located in Birmingham, AL.
Precision Electric Coil - Our coil manufacturing division delivers on-time products for AC and DC motor pre-formed coils in the aftermarket repair and OEM winding industry. Capabilities include low and medium voltage AC stator coil systems up to 7kv. PEC also builds industrial DC armature and equalizer coils interpoles, synchronous rotating field coils, shunt and compound field coils and specialty products including DC brake coils, solenoids, transformers and other magnetic field coils. Our engineering staff can help solve tough applications and can create winding system redesigns in house.
Precision Rotor Services - is a specialty shop dedicated to service and manufacturing of laminated motor components. Induction rotor services include copper and aluminum rebar and restacks, rotor core repair and replacement. Other shop capabilities include endring, shaft and fan repair, bar and ring kits, copper bar conversions and induction rotor testing. We also build synchronous rotor and replacement poles, AC stator cores and DC armature cores.
Engineering and Technical Training - Our staff engineers create company motor and generator redesigns and work on special machine testing and customer application needs. Some of the projects in the engineering group include specs and drawings for motor enclosure modifications, motor horse-power, voltage, speed, torque and frequency changes, rotor redesigns, root cause failure analysis and efficiency audits. We also produce technical train-ing programs and present them at customer plant sites.
Lifting Magnet Group - The Jay Electric lifting magnet shop performs repairs and full rewinds for large industrial lifting magnets including units for steel and scrap material handling applications. Aluminum and copper strap-wound magnets are disassembled, tested and repaired using first quality conductors, insulating materials, mica plate and compounds. Minimize downtime and choose rush pri-ority turnaround for a fast delivery.
